Job Description

Assistant General Manager – Forma Pasta Factory

Brooklyn, NY | Full-Time | Salaried

About Forma Pasta Factory

Forma Pasta Factory is a Brooklyn-based restaurant built around a simple idea: sharing our love of Italian pasta-making by creating a warm, world-class dining experience that honors tradition while feeling distinctly our own.

The Opportunity

Forma Pasta Factory is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team at our Greene Avenue location in Brooklyn.

The Assistant General Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day operation of the restaurant, supporting the General Manager in delivering exceptional hospitality, developing the front-of-house team, and maintaining the operational and service standards that define the Forma Pasta Factory experience.

This is an opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives on the floor, enjoys developing people, understands the business behind the restaurant, and knows how to balance exceptional guest service with strong operational discipline.

What You'll Do

Support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations across opening, mid, and closing shifts. Lead, coach, train, and develop the front-of-house team while fostering a culture of accountability, hospitality, and continuous improvement. Partner closely with the General Manager and Senior Lead Line Cook to ensure strong communication and alignment across departments. Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support team members to ensure they are successful in their roles. Manage key administrative responsibilities including FOH scheduling and weekly payroll. Lead service from the floor, coaching and motivating the team while maintaining exceptional standards of hospitality and guest experience. Monitor guest feedback, resolve concerns thoughtfully, and use feedback to identify coaching and training opportunities. Support sales and revenue growth through strong floor management, service standards, and team development. Monitor labor, cost control, cleanliness, product quality, and overall restaurant conditions. Review revenue and operating reports with restaurant leadership to identify trends and opportunities to improve performance. Conduct and participate in necessary shift meetings focused on menu knowledge, service standards, and selling techniques. Act as a strong liaison between front and back of house, helping create a collaborative and positive working environment. Support private dining and special events as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable Department of Labor, Department of Health, safety, and operating requirements.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service dining environment. Experience working in fine dining, quick service restaurant, upscale, or similarly high-caliber restaurants strongly preferred. Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, Floor Manager, or comparable hospitality leadership role. Strong people leadership skills with demonstrated experience coaching, training, and developing teams. A highly visible, hands-on leadership style with a genuine passion for hospitality and guest engagement. Experience with scheduling, payroll, labor management, and restaurant administration. Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including sales, labor, budgets, forecasts, and P&L performance. Proven ability to drive sales while maintaining exceptional service standards. Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle challenging guest and employee situations with patience, professionalism, and diplomacy. Knowledge of NYC restaurant compliance, health, safety, and labor requirements. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in Business, Hospitality, or a related field. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Fluent English required; conversational Spanish is a plus. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Forma Pasta Factory offers a competitive benefits package for eligible full-time employees, including medical insurance; 401(k); Defined Benefit Plan (profit sharing), paid vacation and PTO; and dining benefits.
