ABOUT ASCENT LOUNGE
Located at The Shops at Columbus Circle overlooking Central Park, Ascent Lounge is a sophisticated cocktail lounge and event destination in the heart of Manhattan. Known for its striking setting, elevated cocktails and cuisine, and warm, attentive hospitality, Ascent welcomes a dynamic mix of New Yorkers, international visitors, private-event guests, and leading brands. From an intimate evening overlooking Central Park to weddings, celebrations, and high-profile corporate events, every experience is shaped by thoughtful service and attention to detail. THE ROLE
As a Bartender, you’ll play an important role in shaping the Ascent experience. You’ll provide knowledgeable, attentive beverage service, craft quality cocktails, anticipate guest needs, and build genuine connections while maintaining the standards expected of an upscale New York hospitality destination.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Deliver warm, attentive, and personalized bar service
• Prepare classic and contemporary cocktails accurately and consistently
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of cocktails, premium spirits, wine, and champagne
• Guide guests through beverage and food selections
• Recommend and upsell premium offerings in a natural, guest-focused way
• Manage multiple guests and orders efficiently during high-volume service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service
• Accurately ring in all items and properly manage guest tabs and payments
• Collaborate closely with servers, hosts, management, and fellow bartenders
• Maintain the presentation and service standards that define the Ascent experience
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We value the quality and relevance of your experience more than a specific number of years. Previous bartending experience is important, ideally within an upscale lounge, fine dining restaurant, luxury hotel, nightlife venue, or other high-touch hospitality environment. The strongest candidates will bring:
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and champagne
• An understanding of elevated hospitality and guest engagement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence, poise, and professionalism
• Strong sales instincts without sacrificing genuine hospitality
• The ability to remain composed and attentive during high-volume service
• A polished, professional presentation
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
