From the humble beginnings of Bob Roberts, Owner and Pitmaster, setting up in his driveway with his wife Lindsey every weekend to being at the heart of a community in the center of Ghent in Norfolk VA, Redwood Smoke Shack has definitely changed the scene of what BBQ looks like in Hampton Roads. Redwood Smoke Shack is a Texas inspired BBQ joint continually pushing the envelope with outrageous, mouth-watering specials and handcrafted BBQ that will leave you coming back for more.
At Redwood, we are a Texas inspired BBQ joint. That means large cuts of meat, like brisket, seasoned with just salt and black pepper, and then cooked low and slow over indirect heat using real wood fire bbq pits. Redwood strives to have the best quality products available and partners with purveyors of high quality meat providers such as Prairie Fresh. Redwood is also the only place in Hampton Roads where you can find Texas’ very own Big Red soda on tap. Redwood strives to give you a unique experience from the moment you enter the restaurant. With interactive counter service, you are instantly involved in the selection and assembly of your BBQ meats and sides. With standards such as beef brisket, pulled pork and ribs this is a BBQ lovers dream.
