Job Description

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Foreman – Commercial & Industrial Refrigeration Installation to lead installation projects for commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing field operations, coordinating project activities, supervising installation crews, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead technical resource for assigned refrigeration installation projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of installation crews, apprentices, and journeyman technicians.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to management.
  • Manage labor hours and project costs while maintaining productivity goals.
  • Coordinate with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), vehicle safety, and compliance with OSHA and company safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, project documentation, timekeeping, and reporting procedures.
  • Oversee third-party contractors when assigned.
  • Identify project changes and communicate the need for change orders when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including labor tracking and progress reports.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Mentor, train, and develop field personnel to support continued growth and performance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a trade school or technical training program preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration installation, commercial construction, mechanical contracting, or a related skilled trade.
  • Previous experience leading installation crews or serving in a foreman or supervisory role preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial refrigeration systems, piping, controls, and mechanical installations.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience using project management software.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and project coordination.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in commercial construction and industrial environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
